Sokol Mjacaj, the author of killing one prisoner and injuring another in Peqin prison, has been handed over.
He has agreed to speak to investigators and is currently being questioned.
The perpetrator has been isolated and the incident is being investigated by the police.
After the shooting, Mjacaj took the prison staff hostage and held them for about 1 hour at gunpoint.
The causes of the collision are still unknown, as it is suspected that the weapon was introduced with a drone.
At the scene are the Prosecutor of Elbasan, the General Director of Prisons, the General Director of the State Police, the Operational Forces of the General Directorate of Prisons, the RENEA Forces.
