The absence of Behar Bajri's defense lawyers has caused the postponement of the hearing at the GJKKO in what is known as the Metamorphosis case, where one of the defendants is Pëllumb Gjoka.
Also defendants in connection with the "Metamorphosis" case are former boxing champion Astmer Bilali, Oltion Bistri, former head of the Operational Police, Xhevahir Lita, former Kukës prosecutor, Edmond Preka, Pëllumb Gjoka's driver, Behar Brajovic (Bajri), and former police officer Ardrit Hasanbegajn.
The Special Court decided that the next hearing will be held on March 11 at 2:00 PM, while a fine of 5,000 lek was applied to Bajri's two lawyers for their absence from the courtroom.
Pëllumb Gjoka is accused of being part of a structured criminal group, which is suspected of a number of criminal offenses such as premeditated murder, drug trafficking, abuse of office, and creating conditions for murder in collaboration.
The trial is expected to continue with the defendants facing the charges brought by SPAK, while the structured criminal group is considered among the most active in the north of the country.
