New details come to light regarding the disappearance of 34-year-old Eglant Koçi, an event for which the police have announced the search for his close friend, Armand Shakaj, as the suspected perpetrator.
It is learned that Shakaj used a cart to transport his vehicle to the Iba area, where investigators believe the 34-year-old's body may have been moved.
According to the investigation team, the movement of the vehicle with the trolley is suspected to have been done to avoid police checks and not attract attention. The incident is believed to have occurred on June 6.
Security camera checks have raised suspicions that Eglant Koç's body may have been kept in the vehicle for about a day and a half, while his last contact with family members dates back to June 4.
Police have identified and questioned the driver of the truck, who stated that he transported the vehicle to a service station in Ibë after Shakaj told him that the car had a defect. According to his testimony, he had no knowledge of what might be inside the vehicle.
Meanwhile, experts have found traces of gunpowder residue in the office premises where Koçi is suspected to have been held. Investigators are awaiting the results of laboratory tests, which are expected to help fully unravel the incident.
For several days, the police have been conducting intensive searches in the areas of Tirana, Elbasan and Librazhd to find the body of Eglant Koç, while in parallel efforts continue to locate and arrest Armand Shakaj.
Sources close to the investigation indicate that the 41-year-old has changed at least six phone numbers in recent days, in an attempt to avoid being tracked by law enforcement authorities.
