
The Italian media have today published details regarding the capture in Italy of two Albanians wanted as part of 50 arrest warrants issued by SPAK for some serious crimes.
And while in the early hours of Saturday morning about 400 men from all police forces were on the ground to guarantee the visit of Pope Francis to Verona, the Verona Police arrested two Albanian citizens involved in several Albanian criminal clans that were fighting each other - the other for reasons of territorial superiority.
They were wanted internationally on charges of criminal association, murder, corruption of a public official, production and trafficking of narcotics.
20 hours of operations, coordinated by the FAST-SIRENE Unit of the Service for International Police Cooperation and many arrest warrants executed, fourteen in Albania, six in other European countries and two in Italy, in Verona.
The two arrested were caught by agents of the Verona Flying Squad on Saturday as the faithful gave an emotional welcome to Pope Francis and the atmosphere in Verona was one of celebration and calm.
Both were already under house arrest for other proceedings against them, one of them, a 49-year-old Albanian, was immediately caught by the police, while the other, a 36-year-old also of Albanian origin, had escaped from house arrest, but thanks to the searches of immediately activated by agents of the Flying Squad, he ended up in handcuffs.
The two wanted persons are already in prison in Montorio, at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
