A 41-year-old German wanted internationally by Interpol Wiesbaden for the criminal offense "Trafficking in narcotics", was arrested today in the Port of Durrës.
The blue uniforms indicate that the German citizen tried to leave Albania, with the passport of a citizen with whom he had a resemblance.
The 41-year-old was arrested with the intention of extradition to Germany.
This citizen was declared internationally wanted after the local Court of Lorrach, Germany, has assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Trafficking of narcotics", provided by the German Penal Code.
"He tried to leave Albania, with the passport of a citizen with whom he had a resemblance, after in-depth verifications by the Border Police, in cooperation with Interpol, the 41-year-old from Germany was arrested.
The 41-year-old, declared internationally wanted by Interpol Wiesbaden, after being accused of drug trafficking.
In addition to the daily commitment to provide quality service to citizens entering/exiting the country, the Border Police services have intensified checks and verifications, with the aim of stopping citizens who are signaled as wanted and try to enter or leave the port of Durrës. As a result of checks by the Border Police and the exchange of information between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Wiesbaden, citizen M. Ë., 41 years old, resident in Germany, was caught and arrested for the purpose of extradition to Germany.
This citizen was declared internationally wanted after the local Court of Lorrach, Germany, has assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Trafficking of narcotics", provided by the German Penal Code.
The passport that this citizen presented was seized as material evidence, together with a passport with his generalship, suspected to be forged, which he had with him.
The procedural materials were handed over to the Durrës Prosecutor's Office, for the criminal offenses "Forgery of identity cards, passports or visas" and "Forgery of documents".
"Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with its counterparts, will carry out the procedures for the extradition of the 41-year-old to Germany," the police announced.
