An Albanian suspected of theft was arrested by the Belgian police. It was local residents who witnessed the burglary of the Boonhof house in Affligem last week at around 19:15. Witnesses were able to provide important information about the escape route, after which the emergency center decided to send a BIN message.
The TARL police area arrived at the scene along with their colleagues from Dilbeek and AMOW and a sniffer dog from the federal police who also came to help.
During patrolling in the area, a suspicious car with French license plates was spotted. As soon as the suspects returned to their vehicle, the police wanted to search. The suspects left immediately. It is not clear how many people were involved. One person was arrested. In the pocket were a pair of gloves and burglary equipment.
According to the police, two bags were found in the car containing one of the stolen items in Boonhof, but the young man said that this is only part of the items.
"The most valuable items have not been found," he says.
The Albanian suspect, who was already known for similar crimes and was staying illegally in Belgium, was arrested by the police.
