The police arrested 49-year-old Ilir Topçiu after stabbing his neighbor Olgert Vesho, 37.
He is charged with the criminal offense of "Deliberate grievous bodily harm". The incident took place in Pogradec, where it is suspected that during a momentary conflict for weak motives, he injured his neighbor with a knife.
The 37-year-old is receiving treatment at the Trauma Hospital in Tirana and is out of danger.
"The services of the Pogradec Police Station, after the notification received that in the neighborhood no. 4 Pogradec, after midnight, there was a conflict between two citizens, they immediately went to the scene, to prevent the escalation of the conflict. As a result of quick actions, the citizen was caught red-handed and arrested:
Ilir Topçiu, 49 years old, resident of Pogradec, for the criminal offense of "Deliberate serious injury". This citizen has a previous record for the criminal offenses "Domestic violence" and "Intentional minor injury".
The IT citizen is suspected of having wounded the citizen Olgert Vesho, 37 years old, resident of Pogradec, with a cutting tool (knife) during a momentary conflict for weak motives. The 37-year-old is receiving treatment at the Trauma Hospital in Tirana and his life is out of danger.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the Korçë General Jurisdiction, for further actions," the police announced.
