The Vlora border police have managed to prevent a suspected case of narcotics trafficking.
After receiving information about a vehicle suspected of making illegal movements, coming from Italy and then leaving again towards the neighboring country, checks were launched throughout the area.
During the checks, the border police found over 3000 liters of fuel on the island of Sazan, which could have been used by the watercraft suspected of being used for narcotics. After detecting the substance, the border guard called all watercraft drivers to report the location of their vehicles, placing them in a registration that had been missing for years.
Despite the fact that the watercraft was not captured and the case remained in the preliminary stages, investigations have already begun into the persons who took the fuel to the island of Sazan, as well as the motive for sending the substance to the island. According to police sources, the incident occurred 4 days ago.
