Police have arrested two people from Kosovo, who are accused of selling weapons in Tirana.

Altin Pajaziti and Kadri Prushi, who were arrested while traveling by car on the "Lezhe - Fushë Kruje" highway, have been arrested.

During the search of the vehicle, the police found and seized 2 firearms, pistols, as well as combat ammunition.

Investigations suspect that Altin Pajaziti and Kadri Prushi trafficked pistols worth approximately 10,000 euros from Kosovo, with the intention of selling them in Tirana.

"A case of trafficking of firearms from Kosovo, with the aim of selling, is being cracked down on. 2 pistols and combat ammunition are being seized."

Two Kosovar citizens were arrested, suspected of trafficking two pistols, with the aim of selling them in Tirana, worth approximately 10,000 euros.

As a result of several months of investigations conducted with proactive methods, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, to crack down on the criminal activity of selling firearms, the Section for the Investigation of Illegal Trafficking, in cooperation with the Operational Force of the Tirana Police Department, has organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Suspend", as a result of which the following citizens were arrested:

AP, 23 years old and KP, 53 years old, both residents of Kosovo.

During the operation, the Police services stopped the vehicle in which citizens AP and KP were traveling on the "Lezhe - Fushë Kruje" highway, in which, during the search, they found and seized 2 firearms, pistols and combat ammunition. Investigations suspect that these citizens trafficked the pistols from Kosovo, with the aim of selling them in Tirana.

Investigations are continuing under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, to fully document the criminal activity of these citizens, and to identify and apprehend other citizens involved.

"The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police statement said.
