The police have provided details on the accident that occurred at the entrance to Gjirokastra. The accident occurred near the Viroi turnoff and resulted in the death of two people. The accident involved an army truck, which collided with a car. As a result, the driver of the latter and the passenger lost their lives.
“ At around 2:00 p.m., on the "Gjirokastër-Tepelena" road axis, at the place called "Kthesa e Viroit", the "Volkswagen Cady" vehicle, driven by citizen PK, 58 years old, resident of Gjirokastër, collided with the "Mad" vehicle (Army vehicle), driven by citizen B. Gj., 54 years old, resident of Tirana.
As a result, the driver of the "Volkswagen Cady" vehicle, citizen PK, and the passenger in this vehicle, still unidentified, lost their lives. Also, citizen B. Gj. was slightly injured, and is receiving medical assistance at the Gjirokastër Regional Hospital ," the police said.
The investigation team continues to work to clarify the circumstances of the accident and to identify the passenger who lost his life.
