A tragic event occurred in Korça, where after a severe fire in an apartment in Maliq, a mother and her 14-year-old eldest son lost their lives from asphyxiation.
The two victims have been identified as Merjeme Azizllari and her 14-year-old eldest son, L. Azizllari. The other child, about 6 years old, is in critical condition.
"Following the information previously provided, regarding the fire that broke out in the apartment of citizen VA, in block no. 3, Maliq, we inform you that:
As a result of asphyxiation, the 14-year-old also died, while the 6-year-old is in serious condition under the care of doctors.
"The investigation group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, continues to work to determine the cause of the fire," the police said in another announcement.
