
Police have revealed details regarding the injury of two people in Përmet, an event that occurred this Wednesday afternoon in the village of Grabovë.
According to preliminary information, two citizens, a 38-year-old and a 53-year-old, were accidentally injured by the explosion of an explosive left over from a previous period, which is suspected to have been an old bomb.
The incident occurred while the two were carrying out work on the wall of an old house in the village of Grabovë, Përmet. After the explosion, the injured were initially taken to the Përmet Hospital for medical assistance and then transported to the Gjirokastra Regional Hospital for specialized treatment.
According to the police, they are under the care of doctors, while the investigative group continues its actions to fully clarify the circumstances of the case.
"Around 1:00 PM, citizens EB, 38 years old, and MK, 53 years old, both residents of Përmet, were sent for medical assistance to the Përmet Hospital.
From the first investigative actions, it is suspected that they were accidentally damaged by the explosion of an explosive material left over from previous periods (suspected to be an old bomb), while carrying out work on the wall of an old house in the village of Grabovë, Përmet.
The injured were transported for specialized treatment to the Gjirokastra Regional Hospital and are under the care of doctors.
"The investigation team continues its work to fully clarify and document the circumstances of the case," the police statement said.
