A powerful explosion has shaken the city of Saranda this evening. The incident occurred at around 22:50, in neighborhood no. 3, where, according to the official announcement of the State Police, it is suspected that a quantity of explosive material placed in a Toyota vehicle was used.
According to the police, the vehicle was owned by citizen Isuf Jacaj, who is suspected of being inside at the time of the explosion and died on the spot.
The investigation team is currently at the scene, working to identify and apprehend the possible perpetrators.
" Today, at around 22:50, in neighborhood no. 3, Saranda, it is suspected that a quantity of explosive material placed in a Toyota vehicle, owned by citizen IJ, exploded. This citizen is suspected to be the person inside the vehicle who lost his life as a result of the explosion.
"The investigation team is at the scene and is continuing its work to identify and capture the perpetrator(s), fully clarify the circumstances of the incident and document it legally ," the police announced.
