Accused of drug trafficking, the Appeal leaves Rexhep Rraja and his group in

Rexhep Rraja, the son of former Socialist MP Rrahman Rraja, was the leader of one of the groups that were targeted by SPAK's order, after they had trafficked 2.4 tons of marijuana and cocaine towards European Union countries.

The Court of Appeal has left in force the security measures for the Rraja group, including the son of former SP MP Rexhep Rraja.

Journalist Klodiana Lala reports that the following citizens have been left in prison:

-Islam Sefa

-Rexhep Rraja

-Progress Rraja

-Gazmir Rraja

-Aldo Gjini

-Zamir Aliaj

-Jani Cavo

-Marvin Bushati

Meanwhile, the arrested Sokol Qaja and Agim Nina have not filed an appeal.

These citizens were discovered after the interceptions in the SKY ECC application were analyzed and are accused of the criminal offenses of drug trafficking committed in collaboration in the special form of collaboration of the structured criminal group provided for by articles 283/a/1 and 28 point 4 of 333/a as well as article 334/1 of the Criminal Code. The base of this criminal group was in Nikël.

The investigative team has managed to uncover the roles and how 3 of the criminal groups functioned, one of which was headed by Rexhep Rraja, who was the mastermind and organizer of the trafficking of 236 kg of marijuana plants in Kapikile, Turkey, on January 26, 2021.

The SPAK file has revealed all the conversations between the members of the group, the clashes between them after the seizure of drugs at customs, to the suspicions of traitors among their ranks. Members of the group were also two other members of the Rraja tribe , Përparim Rraja, the owner of the quarry in Borizanë for which the two Maja cousins were raped, as well as Gazmir Rraja . Meanwhile, the other members were Bujar Sefa (alias Xaka) Agim Nina (alias Lorenc Selmani) Jani Çavo, Aldo Gjini (alias Iamandi), Sokol Qaja, Marvin Bushati and Elton Bogdani , the latter the driver who transported the narcotics by truck.

Agim Nina was the person who maintained direct contact with the truck driver, who constantly informed Jani Çavo and then other members of the group about the driver's location, sending him photos of the communications he had with the driver on the "WhatsApp" application, which informed him about the location, the vehicles ahead of him in the queue at the Edirne-Kapikule border crossing, the scanner that would be performed on the truck and then about the physical inspection of the vehicle, a fact about which he felt concerned.

The group had organized everything in detail to smuggle the narcotics into Turkey via a truck, but at the border crossing point something did not go according to plan. The truck with Albanian license plates, inside which the drugs were hidden in the roof, had passed the scanner without any problems, but the Turkish Police had stopped the truck since the evening of January 26 and were expected to conduct a detailed search.

After the 236 kg of cannabis was seized, Rraja's group raises suspicions of possible betrayal by the driver, Elton Bogdani. Rexhep Rraja suspects that information may have been provided by others who were involved in the order, while concerns grow if fingerprints have been erased from the bags in which the cannabis was packaged. In conversations, Rraja says that his uncle's fingerprints are on those bags.

In the SPAK file, besides Rexhep Rraja, it is revealed that others also have pseudonyms. Bujar Sefaj was known as "Venecia", Përparim Rraja as "Caca", Sokol Qaja was known as "Hermano", while Gazmir Rraja was known as "Miri" or "ÇOKU".

On December 10, SPAK issued 14 security measures, 10 of which were executed, 7 arrested that same day and 3 others earlier for other proceedings, while 4 were declared wanted. During the searches in 12 apartments and other premises, 430 thousand euros, 1 firearm and other items were seized.
