Scene from the operation

A quantity of around 200 kilograms of cocaine, destined for the European market, has been seized by authorities during a joint international operation. The drugs were hidden in a cargo container, professionally camouflaged to evade customs checks.

According to investigative sources, an Albanian criminal gang suspected of international drug trafficking has been busted. The group was headed by a person considered the main organizer of the criminal activity, known in the investigative files as one of the key figures in cocaine trafficking, described by investigators as a "drug lord."

Investigations have revealed that the group operated with a well-organized structure, where each member had a clearly defined role, from securing narcotics in Latin America, to maritime transport and distribution in several countries of the European Union.

The operation was carried out after months of investigations, wiretapping and information exchange between Albanian authorities and their European counterparts. It is suspected that the drugs were destined for one or more EU countries, where they would be distributed through local criminal networks.

Authorities have not ruled out arrests, while investigations continue to identify accomplices and financial support networks. The value of the drugs on the European market is estimated at tens of millions of euros.

The police and prosecution are expected to provide official details in the coming hours/days.
