Three people have been arrested by the Carabinieri of the Operations Unit in Frosinone, Italy, on suspicion of involvement in drug trafficking. The detainees are a 48-year-old Albanian man, his 20-year-old son and the latter's 22-year-old Italian partner.
They were caught red-handed for possession of narcotics with the intent to distribute, during an operation carried out along Via Monti Lepini. Initially, the officers stopped a “Smart” vehicle, driven by the young man, previously known for drug-related criminal records. His partner was also in the vehicle.
Their suspicious behavior and nervousness led to a detailed search, during which authorities found 2,435 euros in small bills in the girl's possession, as well as discovering a hidden compartment in the passenger airbag area.
Inside the car, 37 sealed packages containing approximately 54 grams of cocaine were seized. The vehicle and a notebook suspected of containing information on illegal activity were also confiscated.
The operation continued with a search of the 20-year-old's apartment, where his father, who was previously convicted, was also present. During the search, other quantities of drugs were discovered, including approximately 54 grams of vacuum-packed cocaine, 210 grams of additional cocaine, a 100-gram block of hashish, and 1.45 grams of unpackaged hashish. An electric money counting machine and materials for packaging narcotics were also found in the apartment.
After the procedures, the two men were sent to Frosinone prison, while the 22-year-old woman was placed under house arrest by court order.
