Naples police have arrested 29 people in Italy, members of two criminal organizations dedicated to international drug trafficking and distribution. The operation started in the early hours of the morning and was mainly focused on the Sanita area.
Although the Italian police have not yet issued official statements to the press, ANSA reports that Albanian subjects are also part of the group. Even one of the Albanians arrested today was intercepted in a conversation in June 2021 with a compatriot who had just arrived in Naples.
The two interlocutors discussed the methods of transporting drugs and the risks to which they are exposed, for example, when drugs are transferred in a bag, due to drug-sniffing dogs. They claim that the containers offer greater security, but only "underwater is 100%, but fits only from Panama", they say. The phrase is interpreted by investigators as a demonstration that traditional means are now being joined by a transfer method through the submarine, as revealed by the US military during an important operation. The submarines are launched from Panama, which is considered one of the world's cocaine capitals.
Seized amount of drugs
The latest information related to the operation in Italy indicates that about 100 kg of drugs were seized and that the group communicated with encrypted phones. Part of this group is Bruno Carbone, the Italian arrested in Dubai in November 2022, wanted since 2003 and considered one of the most important traffickers after Raffaele Imperiale. Among the arrested are some Albanians and the organization trafficked cocaine, marijuana and heroin. The drug route has also been the Netherlands and Spain.
