A fire broke out during the night in a flat on the 9th floor of a multi-storey building in the Apolonia neighborhood in the city of Fier.
The fire is suspected to have started as a result of an electrical spark, while there was only one elderly person with vision problems in the apartment.
Fortunately, the fire was spotted by the elderly's neighbors, due to the smoke that quickly dispersed. They were the first to intervene and save the old man.
Meanwhile, the police and the fire department immediately arrived at the scene, which made it possible to extinguish the fire. The elderly man who lives alone in the apartment was accompanied by an ambulance for a medical examination. As a result of the fire, minor material damage was noted.
