A serious road accident has been recorded in Italy, where an Albanian citizen, 62-year-old Merita Qemali, has lost her life. She was traveling with her family when the fatal collision occurred.
According to preliminary data, the Ford vehicle they were traveling in collided with a truck that was moving at low speed due to a defect, specifically a tire blowout. The collision was severe, causing extensive damage to the front of the vehicle.
The 62-year-old woman was rushed to hospital but did not survive her injuries. Her 49-year-old partner, 10-year-old son and 47-year-old sister were also in the vehicle. Two of the passengers were trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters.
The driver of the vehicle is in serious condition after undergoing surgery, while the victim's sister is in critical condition. The 10-year-old child, according to doctors, is out of danger.
Italian authorities have launched investigations to fully clarify the causes and circumstances of the accident.
