According to the police, at the time of the intervention, the 38-year-old and his brother-in-law, A. Sh., 23, violently resisted the police.
A tense situation was recorded this evening in Golem, where a 38-year-old man, under "house arrest", was found by the Police services moving on the street. The incident ended with the escorting of several people and a shot in the air from the service weapon of a police officer.
According to preliminary official information, at around 19:10, the General Patrol of the Golem Police Post, together with the assistant specialist of the area, detained for verification the citizen with the initials AB, 38 years old.
He was placed under house arrest for the criminal offense of "Destruction of property by fire." During the verification, the officers asked him for explanations for violating the measure and informed him that he would be accompanied to the Kavaja Police Station for further procedural actions.
According to the police, at the time of the intervention, the 38-year-old and his brother-in-law, A. Sh., 23, violently resisted the police. In their support, other family members who were present at the scene also intervened.
Under these circumstances, to neutralize the situation and disperse the people involved, the assistant specialist of the Golem Police Station fired once into the air with his service weapon.
Subsequently, other police forces arrived to assist the patrol, escorting the persons involved in the confrontation to the police station, as well as the 38-year-old man who had violated the security measure.
The investigative actions are being carried out by the Judicial Police Officer at the Durrës General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office. The Police Supervision Agency (AMP) has also been notified of the case, due to the use of the service weapon by the officer.
