This Tuesday morning, a welcoming ceremony is being held for victim Marjola Nakoleci, who was murdered by her husband about 4 days ago in Volos, Greece.
Her body was brought back on Monday afternoon and will be laid to rest in the cemetery of the city of Korça.
Friends, family and relatives of the victim are saying their final goodbyes to the 36-year-old and are in a serious psychological state as they have categorically banned the presence of the media.
The funeral ceremony is expected to take place around 11:00 AM.
Her family members are present, including the children who also accompanied their mother's body from Greece to Korça, to be present at the funeral ceremony.
In parallel, investigations are being conducted in Greece against Pandeli Nakolec, who appears today before the Volos Court for a security measure. He has expressed remorse, but has given contradictory statements throughout the interrogation. Once he said that he did not want to and the situation got out of control. Then he claimed that he was cheating on her, had an extramarital affair, that the child he had aborted was not his and other alibis for the ongoing conflicts in the family.
However, according to investigators, the author's past is filled not only with criminal precedents for forgery, drugs, and criminal organization, for which he has also been convicted, but also with a record of mental health problems, both in Albania and in Greece.
He had even recently attempted suicide and the Prosecution had ordered his hospitalization in a psychiatric hospital. Nakoleci was caught a day after the murder, hiding in a grassy plot of land that also served as a parking lot, just 200 meters from the building where he committed the family crime, an event that occurred in front of his children.
