Eduard Afmataj, suspected of the murder of the 48-year-old in Nikël, has given his testimony before the investigative group, recounting the circumstances of the incident.
According to his statements, initially there was a verbal conflict between the parties, which later degenerated into physical violence. Afmataj claimed that Artur Çangu hit him in the arm with a small scythe.
After that, he took a "couple" type shotgun and shot the 33-year-old, causing his death. The incident occurred on the victim's land, in the Vrion area, in Nikël.
Sources from the investigation indicate that at the time of his arrest, Afmataj did not resist police forces, while the murder weapon has not yet been found.
The suspected perpetrator was arrested within 24 hours of the incident, in a place called Bruz Mal, in the Kruja Highlands, where he had been hiding after the crime. It is learned that after the incident, he contacted the police himself, reporting the crime and then left the scene.
According to the investigative team, there had been an ongoing conflict between the perpetrator and the victim over property issues for about a year.
