As during the arrest, Dorjan Keqi has denied having anything to do with the incident, but the prosecution claims that he managed to prove his cooperation in this crime, which left him injured and another person who at that moment was drinking coffee with Saimir Jaku.
The 40-year-old resident of Kruja was arrested in September 2022 by the Police by order of the Lezha Prosecutor's Office. He was discovered based on the fingerprints he left on the gasoline can that was found at the place where the perpetrators had burned the car after the crime.
How did the event happen?
Saimir Jaku, 33 years old, former Director of High Voltage for the northern area, was shot dead on September 9, 2016. There were two masked people who fired machine gun shots at Jaku, who was standing in the premises exterior of a bar in the town of Rreshen, just 20 meters from the police station. Immediately after the crime, the perpetrators left the scene in a vehicle that was parked not far from the bar where the execution was carried out.
Jaku had been fired from his job just a week before the shooting. Years ago, he was an immigrant in several different European countries. As a result of that event, Gjergj Prenga, 50 years old, who was at the table with the victim at the time of the murder, was also injured.
