44-year-old Sajmir Kolaveri has been extradited from Italy to Albania as part of cooperation between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Rome.
According to the State Police, the extradition was carried out as part of the international operation "The Wanted", which aims to locate, arrest and return to the country of persons declared internationally wanted.
Against Kolaveri, the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCOC) has imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" for the criminal offenses "Murder for blood feud", "Hiding or destruction of a corpse", "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", as well as for participation in a structured criminal group.
According to the investigation, it is suspected that on August 5, 2020, he collaborated with members of a criminal group in the murder of citizen Klevis Lleshi, a crime committed for blood feud motives. After the event, according to the indictment, Kolaveri also participated in the transportation and hiding of the victim's body, which is suspected to have been buried in the village of Shpërdhet, Mamurras.
44-year-old Sajmir Kolaveri will now face the Albanian justice authorities for the charges brought against him.
