A police officer died after his vehicle collided with a trailer on the Korca-Bilisht axis near the village of Neviçisht.
It is known that the heavy tonnage vehicle was traveling from Korça in the direction of Pojan village, while the small vehicle was traveling from Zêmblak in the direction of Korça.
The police announced that the vehicle driven by Gorica Border Police Officer Ilir Duni was driving on the opposite side of the national road, while Vaskë Çunoti, the driver of the heavy tonnage vehicle, in order to avoid being hit, asked to pass the trailer on the opposite side of the national road. opposite of the road axis. This deviation did not manage to avoid the collision of the small vehicle with the heavy tonnage vehicle.
As a result of the collision, the vehicle was engulfed in flames and it took the intervention of the fire service to put out the fire. The impact was so strong that 62-year-old Ilir Duni, who was traveling alone in the vehicle, died instantly.
The police accompanied the driver of the trailer to the police station to clarify the circumstances of this accident.
