In a surprising and unexpected ranking by CNN, Albania has been rated as the best song of Eurovision 2025, leaving behind countries with a tradition in this competition such as Sweden, Italy or France. The song "Zjerm", performed by the duet Beatriçe Gjergji and Kolë Laca, under the artistic name "Shkodra Elektronike", has been described as "unusual, electrifying and deeply special".
CNN describes the Albanian entry as an artistic act that challenges the classic Eurovision format, with an alternative approach that precisely because of its non-conformity - "can win anything".
"An absurd, fiery and uncompromising performance. Albania brings a song that doesn't even try to be 'Eurovision' – and for that, it shines above all else," writes CNN.
