A serious road accident was recorded this Saturday in the last kilometers of the "Ibrahim Rugova" highway, near the Morina border crossing.
Six vehicles were involved in the incident, and several people were injured as a result.
According to preliminary data from the scene, seven people were injured, including a child and a woman in her seventh month of pregnancy.
The injured were transported by ambulance to the Prizren Regional Hospital, where they are receiving the necessary medical treatment. So far, there are no reports of casualties, while the authorities have not yet provided information on their health conditions.
Immediately after the accident, Kosovo Police units and emergency teams arrived at the scene, intervening to assist the injured and manage the situation.
As a result of the accident, one lane of the highway in the Prizren-Morinë direction has been blocked, causing heavy traffic and long vehicle queues. Police are directing traffic and are appealing to drivers to avoid this road segment if possible or to respect the instructions of officers on the ground.
The circumstances leading up to the accident remain unclear. Kosovo Police are expected to release more details after the investigation is complete.
