The famous Greek singer Vassilis Karras passed away at the age of 70.
Hellenic media write that the singer was recently facing serious health problems. He is a beloved name for Albanians as well. His famous songs "Den pao Pouthena" and "Gia ta lefta ta Kaneis ola", are still sung and heard today.
Vasilis Karras was born in Kokkinochori of Kavalla, while at the age of 10 he went with his family to Thessaloniki.
Since then he has not stopped singing, performing in many bars.
Vassilis Karras had collaborated with composers and lyricists, such as Dimitris Rakitzis, Phoivos, Giorgos Theofanous, Alekos Chrysovergis and Spyros Giatras, Evi Droutsa, Panos Falaras, Christos Dantes, Kyriakos Papadopoulos and Ilias Nikolis Filippou, Michalis Hatzigiopoulos and many others.
He has done duets with many singers such as Marianthi Kefala, Pyx Lax, Konstantina, Angela Dimitriou, Tolis Voskopoulos, Nikos Zoidakis, Kaiti Garbi, Despina Vandi, Elli Kokkinu, Irini Merkouri, Paola, Pantelis Pantelidis as well as with George Kakosao. He has also collaborated with Albanian singers.
