May 11/ Rama calls on immigrants in Greece: There was a mix-up with the

SP leader Edi Rama, during an electoral meeting in Gjirokastra, speaking about the problems with the Diaspora vote, called on emigrants to deal with the ballots themselves, without waiting for the mail to bring them home.

Rama said that there was a mix-up in Greece with the distribution of envelopes, but he called on immigrants to vote to get their hands on a European passport.

Their vote, Rama said, cannot remain on the streets like a worthless piece of paper.

"Here I take advantage of the opportunity, hoping and believing that they see us from Greece. I tell you, those of you who are registered to vote. There was a mix-up, not DHL, not where I know what. But, now the opportunity is there. I would ask those who are registered to take the envelope, to take the vote, to decide to bring this centuries-old legacy to the country, to give the children in Greece and themselves, this European passport. The Albanians of Greece are the ones who can understand better than all Albanians what it means. This passport is not another travel document, this is not simply so that when we go to the airports they don't take us out like foreigners, like second-class citizens, to start checking us.

"Those who have crossed the mountains, who have worked hard and are anxiously waiting to see if their pension will be recognized, cannot leave the envelope on the streets, cannot let the vote they registered for remain as a worthless piece of paper. They must go and get it at all costs and send it to Tirana. There are still a few days left, it is possible, I urge them to send it to Tirana," said Rama.
