Lawyer Spartak Ngejla has requested that SPAK raise the stake of arrests higher. Yesterday, the Secretary of the Ministry of Health was put in handcuffs together with a specialist, but for Njjela, the highest level of corruption is the ministers and deputies.
According to him, until now SPAK has not been where it should be and it remains to be seen if it has started to move or not.
" SPAK was in a frozen position until now as I had seen it. Maybe it's starting to move. From the experience until now, we know that the state secretaries in Albania have committed many abuses. I don't talk about this in particular because we will see the evidence. But I'm talking about 30 years ago, the state secretaries in the ministries have signed for corruption. But we will see how SPAK will progress on this concrete issue. It was not a high level of corruption. High level are ministers, deputies and so on. However, we have to see how far it will go, since SPAK has disappointed many parties in this regard ", said Ngjela.
The lawyer also stopped at the release from the cell of former minister Saimir Tahiri. According to him, despite the accusations of Ambassador Kim and the opposition, as long as there is no evidence that the court violated the law, the decision must be respected.
" He was released by court decision. If there is corruption, the courts will bring it out and say. There are 4 points of the law which release a prisoner when he cannot support his family. But it doesn't release him. He makes prison at home. If they are talking about corruption as the US ambassador claims, let them produce the evidence. I cannot speak against a court that I am a lawyer ," he said in a television interview.
Tahiri was released on bail from the cell, while there were strong reactions from the opposition and from the American ambassador Yuri Kim.
