The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, declared that the solution to the current political situation in the country is the immediate resignation of the government and the creation of a non-partisan technical government, which would have as its mission the organization of new elections.
Berisha was asked by his followers on social media what the concrete demands of the protest against the government should be at this time. In his response, he emphasized that the main demand is the immediate removal of the executive from office.
"Immediate resignation, creation of a non-partisan technical government," Berisha said.
According to him, a technical government can be non-partisan even under normal conditions, but he argued that the non-partisan nature of the protest makes the creation of such a cabinet necessary.
Berisha said that the new government should have as its sole mission the preparation and holding of new elections, considering this as the greatest service that can be rendered to the country in the current situation.
"I think this would be the greatest service they would do to the nation and Albania," he declared.
