The head of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, held a press conference today where he spoke about yesterday's opposition protest, during which they were blocked for three hours around the main roundabouts in the country.
During his speech, Berisha asked the Prime Minister of the country Edi Rama to create a technical government, this is the main demand of civil disobedience.
Berisha claims that if a technical government is created, PD will win the 2025 elections.
"Albanians challenge you! Why are you afraid Edi Rama? Create the technical government, and let's see who wins the elections! Let's see who the pensioners you cheated will vote for. Let's see who the businessmen will vote for. Let's see who the youth will vote for, whom you describe with the most insulting epithets and drive them out of Albania. Let's see who the doctors who accuse them of crimes against humanity will vote for. To see who the families will vote for, who today have empty houses because you drove their children around the world. This is why Edi Rama is afraid of the free vote. This is why you don't like the technical government.
But the technical government is no longer a demand of the opposition. It is a condition. We will achieve it in the technical government. They said that it is impossible for the Democratic Party to unite. They said that it is impossible for the Democratic Party to receive its flag. They say today that technical government is impossible. But just as we won every battle until today, I guarantee you that we will win every battle today and in the future.
We in the opposition are determined to restore the free vote to Albanians, because today the opposition is on its feet. "Every oppositionist understands that it is better to sacrifice 7 months, until the next elections, than another 4 years with Edi Rama," said Berisha.
