Braçe "screams" in Parliament: Why aren't the prices going
Erion Brace

Socialist MP, Erion Braçe today raised for the umpteenth time in the Assembly the issue of high prices in the country, at a time when everywhere around us and in Europe, they have decreased.

With the Index of the World Food and Agriculture Organization in hand, which shows how prices have fallen in each category, Braçe said that this is the biggest concern today for Albanian citizens who continue to pay high prices even for basic consumer goods.

"These are the price curves, they are all lower and lower than the level of a year ago. I have a question for those who follow us and shop. Have you verified that the price of oil has dropped by 43.8%? You have verified that the price of bread has fallen by the same percentage as the price of grain has fallen in international markets, as long as we are importers. Have you verified that all other fabricated prices have dropped by this percentage?

No! Then I think that more important than swearing and slandering here, and pointing fingers at everyone, is to make the economy functional. Making markets work. Because those who are over there need to be fed with quality, and cheaper.

As long as the prices in the international markets are falling, it is equally important that they are reflected in the prices at which the citizens of this country buy their products to feed themselves in the span of a month," Braçe said in Parliament.
