The Assembly is expected to vote on Monday on the arrest of former minister Arben Ahmetaj. Today is the second day of the meeting of the Council of Mandates, where for 1 hour and 30 minutes the procedures to be followed are being discussed.
The majority has proposed that the lawyers be heard today and another meeting be held on Friday, where the report will be voted on. According to the procedure, the Mandates Council must come up with a report on whether or not to accept the request for arrest and the report goes to the session for voting.
SP proposes to hold a meeting on Friday at 12.00 and approve the report. According to information, the SP is expected to accept SPAK's request and remove the MP's immunity.
Meanwhile, it has been proposed that an extraordinary parliamentary session be held on Monday at 5:00 p.m. The opposition demands that the report be approved today and voted on tomorrow in the session. Since the SP has the majority, the first version is expected to be sealed. So on Monday, the way will be opened for the arrest of Ahmetaj.
Meanwhile, the former deputy prime minister himself is not in the country, according to the lawyers. Yesterday they said that he left the country, while today they were asked by the deputies where the former minister is. The lawyers did not give details, but said that he fled for family reasons and did not run away. If Ahmetaj stays outside until Monday, then it means that SPAK must ask the court for a security measure in his absence and ask for the declaration of international wanted.
Meanwhile, there were arguments between Gazmet Bardhi and Ahmetaj's lawyers. He addressed them with a series of questions regarding SPAK's investigations and the positions of the former minister.

This type of investigation into the wealth of officials should be done for all politicians. The charges are not political in nature, but for corruption and abuse of power. Why are you against the control of wealth and the extension of the investigation since 2004?
Do you have proof of the legality of this property? Why did Ahmetaj lie about the relationship with Mirel Mërtir and Klodian Zoto? Does it result that Damian Gjiknuri was also on the same trips as Ahmetaj with these two people? Do you confirm this? ", said Bardhi.
