Commenting on the rich in the world and in Albania, MP Agron Shehaj said that unlike in Western countries, in Albania powerful businessmen have become so thanks to nepotistic connections with politicians.
According to him, some people are particularly rich because of their connections with the next politician. He emphasizes that those who get rich through corruption are thieves, not businessmen.
"These extraordinary people who have made the history of the people, while the rich people in Albania are ordinary, that forgives connections, servility, in a criminal way because corruption is a crime, they have managed to create a certain wealth. The second thing we need to emphasize is that these people have contributed. They have reduced prices, made many products accessible to the lower classes.
In Albania they did not make any contribution. In relation to salaries, Albania has the highest prices in Europe. Not only have they not brought any contribution, but they have brought negative consequences for the market. Stealing is one thing, business is another. Those who get rich through corruption are thieves not businessmen.
Some people are extraordinarily rich because of their connections to the next politician. What is the other consequence that these extraordinary people have brought, they have brought opportunities for young people. There are hundreds and thousands of people who have built businesses on these tools like Facebook. What are the consequences of capturing the market and the nepotism of powerful businessmen in Albania, on the opportunity that ordinary citizens have, the consequences are the theft of opportunities.
In Albania, by right, we all have an ambition, we want a better life. We face market capture and an economy that is based entirely on the state. In Albania, it is impossible to start a business out of nothing ," said Shehaj for "News 24".
