The Parliament we don't want/ the 41 "dumb" deputies who have

Parliament has reopened its doors for a new session, but inheriting old problems.

The temple of democracy should be the arena for the confrontation of ideas, but the reality speaks of the opposite, since words left more room for action, putting the problems of the citizens in the background.

The Institute of Political Studies has published a critical report on the past session, identifying as a distinguishing feature the harsh derogatory language in the parliamentary discourse, numerous incidents and physical violence and a record number of punishments of deputies, 63 in two months.

The ISP has also evaluated the performance of the MPs for the September-December 2023 session, where it turns out that a total of 41 MPs or 30% of the total number of MPs did not leave a mark in the parliamentary memory, not having a word even in the regular September-October sessions. The list of "silent" MPs in this parliamentary session consists of well-known legislators but also of the anonymous sources of the 2021 elections.

Specifically, the list of MPs with 0 discussions in the September-December 2023 session includes: Agron Çela, Anduel Tahiraj, Anila Denaj, Arben Pëllumbi, Arben Ahmetaj, Arkend Balla, Baftjar Zeqaj, Edi Paloka, Enkelejd Alibeaj, Enslemvera Zake, Ervin Salianji . Basha, Meri Markiçi, Merita Bakiu, Mesila Doda, Niko Kuri, Nusret Avdulla, Oriela Nebiaj, Orjola Pampuri, Ornaldo Rakipi, Paulin Sterkaj, Petrit Doda, Seladin Jakupllari, Shkëlqim Bullari and Shpëtim Idrizi.

Meanwhile, the MPs with the most speeches during the session are Tabaku, Zhupa, Bylykbashi, Berisha and Shehu (PD), Dhima and Resulaj (SP), all with 5 parliamentary discussions each, mainly in the regular sessions of the September-October 2023 period.

Further, Agalliu, Dogjani, Leskaj, Bardeli, Korreshi, Gështenja (PD), Vasili (PL) and Balla e Koçi (SP) are listed with 4 contributions each to the parliamentary discussions. As can be seen, SP deputies have been much less active than those of the opposition, although the latter are divided into at least two political factions./TCH
