In the speech held at the civic gathering, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha said that the citizens who gather every night have become the spokespersons of those who have no voice and do not dare to speak.
The chief democrat made his comments on World Media Day, which also published the report where Albania ranks last in the region for press freedom.
Berisha emphasized that these protesters are the most powerful epicenter of the nation's anti-censorship and this is an extraordinary merit.
Part of the speech of Sali Berisha:
Dear democrats and democrats, oppositionists, invincible missionaries of the great cause of the Albanian citizen, the great cause of the nation and of Albania.
A heartfelt greeting and boundless gratitude to you, the wonderful orators of the parliament of freedom, who convey every night to the four corners of the country with their free speech the truths that Edi Rama's narco-state hides in its darkness.
You are here today the most powerful anti-censorship epicenter of the nation and that is a tremendous merit.
On press day, you come prouder than ever because you, with your protest, with your word, have become a spokesperson for those who have no voice.
You have become a spokesperson for those who do not dare to speak.
You have become a spokesperson for those who were silenced by threats.
You have become a spokesperson for the truths, regardless of the price.
Dear friends, as spokesmen of the truths, you have become the spokesmen of all the democrats and all the opposition.
But I guarantee you not only that, good luck to the honest socialists, good luck to the citizens without a party, who have learned and learn from you every day the monstrous crimes, the monstrous thefts of the current governors.
On this platform, in defense of the just cause, today every Albanian citizen understands that his theft is reported here every night.
And this denunciation is made because it is this theft that impoverishes him from month to month, from year to year.
It is this theft of hundreds and hundreds of millions of euros that does not allow his salary to increase.
It is this theft that we denounce every night of hundreds and hundreds of millions of euros that does not allow his or her pension to increase.
It is this theft that forces hundreds of thousands of Albanians to leave their country because they cannot make a living in Albania.
