Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, during a joint press conference with Prime Minister Edi Rama in Rome, declared that this was a historic day for both countries. She stated that relations between Italy and Albania have deep roots and that cooperation will continue, which was also shown by the signing of 16 agreements.
"I am pleased to welcome Prime Minister Edi Rama to Rome on a day that can be called historic. Not only for the fact that our governments meet in formats of this type, but for the quantity and quality of bilateral agreements. We know that the relations between Italy and Albania have deep roots. They go beyond interests, we were moved by the passage of our plenary assembly with at least 20 ministers who took the floor speaking exclusively in Italian, without translation.
"Think about how Italy has been and is a reference point for Albania. We want to turn the relationship into a treasure. Italy is Albania's first trading partner, we will put our relations on a deeper level. We have set another meeting to create a forum where companies will be represented. We have defined the directions where our cooperation will continue, focusing on the 8th corridor," said Meloni.
