Endrit Shabani was sworn in today as People's Advocate amid tensions and flare-ups in the Assembly.
Immediately after the vote, it was learned that the Democratic Party is collecting signatures to take the matter to the Constitutional Court.
The Democrats will also request an extraordinary session for Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.
After the tensions ended, the session closed after an hour.
As the opposition MPs occupied some of the ministers' seats, Shabani took the oath from the other side, and after saying "I swear," he gave them a kiss and quickly left the hall.
The opposition, which had actually submitted signatures for Shabani's candidacy for this position, claims that the signatures were only for submitting the candidacy to the Commission, not for submitting it for a vote in Parliament. Although it withdrew the forms, the SP passed Shabani's candidacy in the session and voted on it.
