The opening of the campus by the College of Europe, Varhelyi: The European Union has arrived in Tirana

The EU Enlargement Commissioner, Oliver Varhelyi, at the signing ceremony of the agreement between the European College and the Ministry of Education, said that from an architectural point of view, this institution will change life in the Balkans.

Most of the applications, said the commissioner, are from EU countries, this means, according to him, that the European Union has come to Tirana.

"I have not prepared anything, but I am really surprised by the numbers. Tirana will become even more popular than Bruges, the weather is better.

What will be built from an architectural point of view will also change life here in the Balkans. Most applications come from the EU. This shows the extraordinary value that this institution will have not only in the Balkans but also for the EU. This means that the EU has arrived in Tirana", said Varhelyi.
