Leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, was asked today by commentators about the slogan of the opposition protests "the last kilometer", the overthrow of Edi Rama and the objective for a technical government.

Citizen Liman Lama asked the leader of the Democratic Party: "Hello, doctor, can you tell us how many meters the last kilometer is, because it's not over yet?"

In response, Berisha stated that the opposition's objective is the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the creation of a caretaker government, which he described as necessary to guarantee free elections.

"The objective is the removal of Edi Rama and the creation of a technical government. Have the foundations been laid for this demand? Yes. There are several resolutions, including the last one that was adopted in Zagreb that insists on a technical government. But in particular, the stigmatization of the elections as a process where the line between state institutions and party structures was erased proves that with this regime there are no elections and a technical government is needed, a government to make elections. And this is in our hands, this is in our hands as the opposition, to continue our peaceful uprising until the achievement of the objective. This is the last kilometer. We left everything behind. I guarantee you that we are on the right track. Together, undefeated, we will take Edi Rama to where he deserves. We will continue this tiring and exhausting battle, with sacrifices, just as the citizen who said: "I took a bullet in the leg, I took gas in the face", and many others in a row, described it. All of this is true. There is nothing in the world that can "To separate us without achieving our goal. We are in the last kilometer and we will cover this kilometer together to save Albania and Albanian society from an evil that the country has not known, except at the height of the Enver Hoxha regime," said Berisha.

He also added that the opposition protests have had, according to him, a significant political effect, placing the prime minister under international pressure.

"I think we shouldn't see things in black and white. The protests could be better organized, but the protests have had an extraordinary effect. They caused Edi Rama to be in the red circle, to travel politically 'wounded'," Berisha declared.
