Why did AKEP license the portal of the "Organization of Orthodox Journalists" by also giving it the .al domain?

It's been a while since a Kremlin propaganda media product entered Albania, but this time with indirect fire.

It is a portal similar to Sputnik, which has been blocked in European space since the start of the war in Ukraine.

Like Sputnik, this new portal has penetrated the Balkans, but with greater advancement, publishing an edition in Albanian, while Sputnik itself edited in the Balkans only in Serbian.

This portal also publishes in Serbo-Croatian, English, German and Greek.

The portal is called the "Union of Orthodox Journalists" and the domain taken by AKEP is UGO.al.

The Kremlin smuggles into the Albanian media space

In the official explanation that this portal gives about itself, it clearly states that its goal is to oppose Ukraine's official stance towards the Russian church.

"In contrast to most church media sources of information, which operate in familiar conditions and often reproduce ready-made materials, our team worked to reveal the inner wealth of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. We tried to show the public its wisdom, to present unique and spiritually mature people whose voices could inspire others," the portal notes.

Whose main objective is to attack official Kiev, namely the Zelensky government, which according to them has expelled the Russian Orthodox Church from Ukraine.

On the surface, this portal chronicles the activities of the Albanian Orthodox Church, but it does not hesitate to feature interviews with Russian hierarchs who attack Ukraine and its church.

Just like Belgrade and the Serbian church attacking Montenegro and the autocephalous Church there.

The problems between the Russian and Ukrainian Churches continue and will likely not end for a long time, perhaps even forever.

What business do the Albanian Orthodox and their autocephalous Church have to be influenced by a propaganda version of this quarrel? Schisms and religious sects do not cease in all religious communities, and will continue to be as long as the government is in power.

People are completely free to have their own opinions about sectarian divisions, but here we are dealing with dedicated propaganda. In the Balkans, it has chosen Albania, a NATO country, and on the other hand, also defined as not being connected to the Kremlin.

Then why did AKEP license the portal of the "Organization of Orthodox Journalists" by also giving it the .al domain? Did Edi Rama's former advisor who heads AKEP escape? Or did the prime minister himself give the green light, which is understandable in the case at hand.

Rama has long had parallel and tangential relations with the Kremlin. He has a close friend, the president of the Emirates, who talks non-stop with Putin and launders his clan's money, he has dined in Azerbaijan with Lukashenko, Putin's closest man. And today, we have a media and propaganda nail, just like Sputnik. Meanwhile, in meetings in villages, he talks about joining the EU./ Pamphlet
