The Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla, reacted after 7 hours regarding the serious incident in Hamallaj, Durrës, where members of the Kaçi family were raped by her driver and his brothers.
Even the guard accompanying Nikolla fired several times with a firearm, but luckily there were no casualties.
In her reaction, Nikola does not apologize at all for the act of her bodyguard, but distances herself from it. He even took care to show that he has been a part of the Guard since 2006 and she did not put it.
" The event that happened today in Hamallaj, where the member of the Guard of the Republic (since 2006) Martin Nikolli was involved, is reprehensible.
I would like to congratulate the State Police for the immediate arrest of the person in question and encourage the justice authorities to clarify the incident as quickly as possible and punish anyone who has a finger in this flagrant case, regardless of the position in which he has served until today.
At the same time, I am fully in solidarity with the Kaçi family and assure them that the institutions of the Republic are engaged and on top of their duty to offer them all the protection provided by the law" , Nikolla.
