As citizens protest against the government, political Islam groups are trying to channel the revolt towards their own ideological causes, away from the European orientation sought by the organizers.
Just as Edi Rama seeks to hide behind Zvërnec and the cause of investment there, a significant number of groups and lobbies closely linked to certain interests are trying to exploit the large citizen protest.
One of these groups is that of Erdogan fanatics in Albania, who have long been financed and prepared to enter the game with their overused thesis of neo-Ottoman political Islam.
Long prepared and kept "asleep", this group seems to have begun to emerge from the nest and act according to plans drawn up, in all likelihood in ideological and political centers of Erdoganist neo-Ottomanism.
In networks and media close to Erdogan, which are also fueled by considerable funding, there has long been a platform with strong anti-Israeli tones, where Israel and Jews are constantly attacked, with the aim of turning this stance into a political cause.
But it seems things have gone even further.
A media figure from this circle, who has also been a representative of a Turkish state information agency in Albania, has publicly called for action against Israeli investments in Albania.
He has published photographs of a facility, which he claims is located in Tirana and where Albania's digital data is stored. According to his claim, Israel has won contracts to manage this data, and he has called for protests and actions against the facility.
When asked about the exact location, he did not provide any concrete explanations, limiting himself to stating that the facility is located in Kashar.
There is no doubt that we are dealing with an attempt to incite public anger against Israel and to channel the protest into a direction that serves other interests.
Meanwhile, other portals of the same orientation have exploited Edi Rama's statements in Vlora, when he said that Israel is attacked in some mosques, to further fuel an ideologically charged discourse.
Edi Rama may say many thoughtless things, but it seems that these groups are interested in using any statement to channel the protest towards their cause.
And, in all likelihood, to create the necessary ground for the political group representing the neo-Ottomans in Albania to come out publicly.
A plan that seems to have been prepared for a long time and is now finding the most favorable moment to come to light.
However, international factors that have expressed understanding for the anti-government protests in Tirana are constantly advising protesters not to allow themselves to be contaminated by the virus of political Islam.
This was also noted during the care that the organizers showed in recent days regarding the language and symbolism used in public appearances.
Likewise, the appearance of the European Union ambassador in Tirana was not simply coincidental.
It was perceived as a clear signal to show who is the main supporter and guide of this wave of protests.
Europe seems to be making every effort to ensure that the protests maintain their civic character and pro-European orientation, without deviating towards anti-Semitic, fanatical, or extremist narratives.
