Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha continues to refuse the security measure against him. The court has announced that tomorrow at 14.00 a hearing will be held in his charge, but Berisha has given signals that he may not appear. He said in a program that he goes to court only if the Constitution is implemented. Berisha claims that since the deputy has immunity, the Constitution does not allow any kind of restriction of his freedom.
" I have stated that I support any act of law enforcement by anyone, but when I say that, I can never accept the violation of the Constitution. In 2012, Sali Berisha sent the constitutional amendments to the Parliament for the removal of any type of restriction on the actions of the justice bodies in front of the deputy, any type of restriction, so in other words, why did I do this? Because I wanted everyone to be equal in the Constitution ," he said.
According to Berisha, SPAK, or as he calls SKAP, has implemented Rama's orders because he knows it above the Constitution, however, if the process goes to parliament, Berisha says he will not refuse to do everything the law and the Constitution require.

Never! Yes, they are afraid to convene the parliament. They are afraid because they know they have zero facts, zero arguments, and they don't want me to put you on trial publicly. If the parliament votes to remove the immunity, I will accept it without question. The man who sent the law on this issue in 2012 never even crosses my mind to reject it ", stated Berisha in "Euronews Albania".
Regarding the arrest of Malltez, the former prime minister said that he was at home reading when he heard the news after being notified by some of his friends.
" I found out, they informed me. They had a long time, not having any facts, documents, they had not announced him as a person under investigation and now that they have arrested him, they have not arrested him as accused of a criminal offense, they have arrested him as a person under investigation. And what did they do? From time to time, to put pressure on me, they called journalists paid by them and told you that Abi Malltezi will be arrested. You have the arrest warrant ready, but these did not make any impression on me, as neither did what I found out ", said Berisha.
He said that he feels bad about the situation since it is obviously a political imprisonment, but he is prepared for such things. Berisha recalled that there were others before Rama who tried to smear him, but they didn't succeed because they never had any evidence.
In this particular case, the former prime minister also mentioned the seized assets of Malltez, which can easily be verified as having been purchased before 2004, when the groom and his brother were UN officials in Kosovo.
