14 MPs are demanding that the leader of the Democratic Party group be suspended for 30 days by the Assembly, after they say he insulted Parliament Speaker Niko Peleshi.
14 Socialist MPs sent an official letter yesterday, October 17, to the Speaker of the Parliament, Niko Peleshi, requesting the exclusion of the leader of the DP group, Gazment Bardhi, from Parliament for 30 days.
This is because, according to them, Bardhi has repeatedly violated the rules of the Assembly, insulting the Speaker and creating chaos in the hall with his interventions and high-pitched voices.
"In the session of October 16, 2025, during the discussions on the agenda items, where specifically the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination was reporting, MP Gazment Bardhi repeatedly intervened in aggressive tones, interrupting the speaker, using very serious insulting words towards the Speaker of the Assembly, actions that constitute a serious violation of the parliamentary regulations and ethics," states the letter, which also requests a meeting of the Ethics Secretariat to expel him.
We recall that in Thursday's session, the SP and the DP had fierce debates on the issue of genocide in Kosovo, but also the protest held yesterday, October 17, in Skanderbeg Square in support of former KLA leaders.
Democratic MP Gazment Bardhi was expelled from the plenary session after repeatedly interrupting the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination, Gazmend Gajda, who was reporting to the Assembly as he does every year.
"Based on the rules of procedure, I give you the third measure, your right to speak is revoked for the entire day today... Then I am giving you the fourth measure. You are excluded from the session, leave, leave the hall!", said the Speaker of the Assembly, Niko Peleshi.
We remind you that the clash between the head of the DP parliamentary group and Niko Pelesh in Thursday's session occurred due to procedure, as the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination was reporting to lawmakers.
Bardhi requested that the deputies themselves submit questions to the Commissioner in the session, but Peleshi refused, sticking only to the written questions submitted earlier by the deputies.
The verbal clash between them led to Bardhi's expulsion from the hall, but due to the democrat's refusal to leave the hall, Peleshi proceeded to the vote and closed the session, again without closing the discussions on the agenda.
