The plenary session in the Assembly has started with debates on the agenda and parliamentary procedures. The leader of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, has proposed changing the agenda, requesting that the consideration of a draft law be postponed to the next session.
Balla argued that the draft law on European companies is related to the government's commitments to the European Union integration process, especially for Chapter 17.
"Since the law on European companies is a law related to the tasks and work that the government is doing for Chapter 17 of the EU, I propose that it be joined on the 23rd, in the next session. I congratulate my fellow ministers for the work done ," said Balla.
Following him, the head of the Democratic Party parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, reacted, raising concerns about the way the agenda was drafted, accusing the majority of blocking the opposition's legal initiatives.
He requested that, if the argument for the postponements is related to the European integration process, then the four draft laws proposed by the opposition be included.
"Thank you, Mr. Niko Peleshi. I want to raise a concern about the agenda. You have been blocking the bills proposed by the Opposition for 7 weeks. Work has started on the bills submitted by the majority. You agree to review these SP initiatives, and not those of the opposition. You are violating the rules of the Assembly. Since we removed them for the sake of integration, let's introduce our 4 laws for the sake of integration ," declared Balla.
After the debates, the change to the agenda was put to a vote, where it was approved with 75 votes in favor and 31 against.
