President Bajram Begaj has reacted to the passing of Pope Francis.
Begaj said that he will keep the meetings he had with him deeply in his memory, while adding that he joins the prayers of all Albanian believers that his soul may rest in peace.
"His Holiness, Pope Francis, ascended to heaven today, next to the Father, to take to heaven what he left as a legacy on earth, compassion, love and dedication to every person, every believer and every religion.
I will keep our meetings deeply in my memory.
I join the prayers of all Albanian believers that his soul may rest in peace," writes President Begaj.
