After leaving the Trauma Hospital, the leader of the "Albania Becomes" Movement, Adriatik Lapaj, surrounded by hundreds of citizens, said that he will not give up, even if he has to stay in the cold, without heating or a tent.
Lapaj underlined that during almost a month on the boulevard, traffic was not obstructed, but nothing was damaged, no glass was broken or a tree or flower was uprooted.
"There is no citizen in Tirana who can say I couldn't go to work because the Adriatic prevented me, or I couldn't go to the festival or the wedding, no one has said that. But Rama himself was the one who started the big tent here, he was the first. And what are they doing, they bring the police here, he attacked people, but thank God nothing happened. If it had happened, this great brave man would have seen it. This great brave man! He stole, the prosecution says, we don't say. They abused, are you witnesses, did we break a flower, did we throw a Molotov cocktail, did we uproot a tree, did we leave garbage behind? We didn't damage anything, and these people are violent! Why doesn't he come when there are many protesters, but does it when there are few? Because he is a coward!", he said.
Lapaj further added that he did the protest for Albanian society and not for himself. Underlining that he would have taken to the streets even if the proceedings were held every day, he recalled that Rama was the first to start the big tent on the Boulevard.
"This is a protest that I am not doing for myself, but also for my daughter, for you. They committed bandit acts against us. Let them arrest one, ten, 100 every day. We protest here, they prosecute us, I have been prosecuted ten times. The police come here with 15 people and attack, they drop gas canisters and hit people. What if something had happened? Where would Rama go, this big coward. They don't leave us a tent, no heater, nothing, but I and we will continue to stay here, in the cold. Let them continue to prosecute us, let them prosecute me every day," said Lapaj.
He accused the government not only of corruption scandals, but also of the pressure placed on citizens who come out, leading the police to their homes.
Lapaj said that there are 13 prosecuted and 4 arrested by his supporters, but they would not surrender.
"Hundreds of millions of lek and euros have been stolen and they don't throw a handful of salt on the street, but people are killed and we are attacked. These people throw gala evenings, while people in Vlora don't have water. There are no medicines at the Oncology Center, these people go out and get drunk. I will file a complaint here. I tell the Chief of Police of Cerrik not to go to people's homes and tell them why they are going to protest. You understand where we have reached now, this is a shame. 13 criminally prosecuted, 4 arrested, but we will continue, we will not give up", said the head of "Albania Is Being Made".
In the end, he accused the Police of having violated the movement's supporters during the protest, causing serious bodily harm, in addition to threats.
