Balla ironizes the DP protest

The head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, has commented on the opposition protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, comparing it more to a "pale wedding" than a serious political movement. Through a status on social networks, Balla has chosen to attack the protest with jokes and symbolic references that also include serious events such as that of January 21.

" Today, the in-laws are forgiven for not spoiling the holiday atmosphere at all and for not showing up for Rogneri's wedding. Maybe they confused the wedding with that engagement yesterday at lunch. Or maybe the turkey and baklava were a bit too much for them. That's impossible ," Balla writes, ironizing the opposition's weak mobilization and alluding to a complacent celebration instead of a real protest.

But besides the irony, Balla does not forget to target a key moment in the opposition statements. “ One of the cheerleaders inadvertently attacked the chief owl while talking about Maduro’s crimes, referring to the crime of the murder of protesters by the Venezuelan dictator in 2019. You are absolutely right. Whoever gave the order to shoot at the people must face justice ,” he writes, linking this to the event of January 21, 2011, where four protesters were killed on the boulevard in front of the Prime Minister’s Office.

" The 15th anniversary of January 21 is approaching and the bells are ringing more than ever ," Balla concludes, giving a clear signal that justice for that event, still unresolved in the public consciousness, can be strongly returned to the institutional agenda.
